A Subordinate Command or Subcommand. (plural Subcommands) is a command or commands that makes up part of a larger military command.[1]

A Subordinate Command is command whose authority is derived primarily through delegation from a higher level of command and which may require the officer to assume the powers and duties of the officer assigned in unit command, e.g. Executive Officer of a ship, a Flag Officer of a formation or shore establishment, a Second-in-Command or Deputy Commander.[2]
