Engineer Captain, was a commissioned rank of the Royal Navy and a promotional grade of the Engineering Branch.[1]

History

An Engineer Captain was a commissioned rank of the Royal Navy and a promotional grade of the Engineering Branch. The rank was first introduced in 1903 when it replaced the rank of Inspector of Machinery. It ranked above Engineer Commander and below Engineer Rear-Admiral.[2]
