The Cyprus Area was sub unit command of the Alexandria naval station created in November 1941 when a change area of command resulted in a specific command being created for the island of Cyprus. The commanding officer was the Naval Officer-in-Charge, Cyprian Ports who was at the Port of Limassol, Cyprus until December 1943 when this command was deactivated.[1]

History
