The Commander-in-Chief, Far East Station was a senior British Royal Navy appointment created on 15 September, 1948 until November 1962. The office holder was responsible for the command of the Far East Station.

History

In September, 1946 the Commander-in-Chief, British Pacific Fleet then headquartered in Sydney, Australia moved his headquarters and staff to Hong Kon.[1] The new HQ became known as the Far East Station.[2] On 15 September, 1948 his tile was changed to Commander-in-Chief, Far East Station, at which point the British Pacific Fleet officially ceased to exist.[3] In November 1962 the Far East Station was renamed Far East Fleet, and this office holders title was changed to Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Far East Fleet
