The Civil Engineer in Chiefs Department was an Admiralty department from 1919 to 1960 when it was renamed as the Navy Works Department, (1960-1963).[1]

History

The Civil Engineer in Chiefs Department was formed at the Admiralty in 1919 when it replaced the earlier Architectural and Engineering Works Department. In 1960 it was renamed as the Navy Works Department until 1963 when it was abolished.[2]
