A Captain (E) was a commissioned rank in the British Royal Navy Engineering Branch first established in 1905. It replaced the earlier rank of Engineer Captain. [1]

History

This rank was introduced in 1905 replacing the earlier rank of Engineer Captain. It ranks above Commander (E) but below Rear-Admiral (E)).[2] The rank was abolished in 1956.
